Shelf Life Privacy Policy

Shelf Life (“the game”) is made by Abdellah Moukhless, publishing as Masnaa Games (“we”). This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. The game is meant for players aged 13 and over.

No account needed

You can play without creating an account or giving us your name, email address or contact details. Your progress is saved on your device.

Information used by the game

• Game progress (levels finished, coins, rooms, settings) is stored on your device. If you choose to sign in with Google Play Games, a copy is also saved in your Google Play Games account so you can restore it on another device.
• Gameplay statistics (for example which levels are started, finished or skipped, how long they take, and which helpers are used) are collected with Google Firebase Analytics, only if your consent choices allow it. We use them to make levels fairer and to balance the in-game economy. Weekly totals across all players (such as “only 4% of players solved this level”) may be shown in the game.
• Crash reports (device model, operating system version, app version and what the game was doing when it crashed) are collected with Google Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix bugs.
• Advertising: the game shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device’s advertising ID, IP address (which gives an approximate location, such as a city or region, never your precise location), how you interact with ads and the app, and diagnostic information, to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud. Google uses this information as an independent company. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for consent first and can change your choice at any time in Settings > Privacy choices.
• Daily shelf: the game downloads the day’s puzzle from Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). Firebase App Check confirms the request comes from the real app.
• Notifications: daily reminders are scheduled on your device. No notification data is sent to us. You can turn them off in the game’s settings or in your phone’s settings.

Who processes this information

Google provides Firebase, AdMob and Play Games Services. Their handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

• Change your ad and analytics consent in Settings > Privacy choices.
• Reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your phone’s settings.
• Sign out of cloud save in the game’s settings.
• Deleting the game removes the progress stored on your device.

Deleting your data

To ask us to delete the analytics and crash data linked to your copy of the game, email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my Shelf Life data”. We reply within 30 days. Data held by Google for advertising is managed by Google: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s settings, and sign out of Google Play Games to remove the cloud save from the game.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
